Course overview

The course, preparatory to the ISO 18436-7 certification, delves into the theory and techniques of thermography, including the measurement and interpretation of assessment results, and provides the tools to be able to perform advanced fault diagnoses and use with precision an infrared thermal imager.

The course is divided into two sessions: 2 days one week and 3 days the following week.

The aims of thecourse are: to be able to undestand the potential and the limits of a thermographic analysis, be able to accurately use an infrared thermal imager.

FIRST PART
Introduction and basic theory
Principles of infrared thermography: Heat and Temperature
The importance of temperature control
Conduction, Convection, Radiation
Phenomena of reflection and transmission
Measurement techniques
Overview of the different maintenance concepts
Presentation of predictive maintenance and its techniques
SECOND PART
Strengths and limitations of infrared thermography
Areas of application: electrical, mechanical, photovoltaic, steel, chemical and paper
Checking transformers, steam traps, tanks, gas leaks, refractory linings, etc
The thermal imaging camera: operation and technical data
Acquisition methodology of thermographic measurements
How to use the thermal imager
Thermal photography analysis techniques
Qualitative and quantitative analyses
Practical session with use of the equipment

Length and location: 5 days (with exam)

Price: € 1.600,00 (price for the full training) + € 450,00 (price of the cat. 2 ISO 18436-7 certification)

Admission to the final exam is subject to the possession of minimum requirements in terms of experience and training, as required by ISO 18436-7.
